Selby Summit Indoor Adventure Centre has bene turned into a Covid-19 vaccination centre. Hundreds of patients have received a dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at a new vaccination centre for Selby. Summit Indoor Adventure Centre which has been closed since March due to coronavirus restrictions has been converted into a vaccination hub. Run by Selby Town Primary Care Network to serve a population of nearly 50,000 people, it opened to its first patients last Friday. About 1,800 people in the over-70s age group received a dose of the vaccine across two clinics held at the newly-converted children s adventure centre on Friday and Saturday.

Bradford Central Mosque to become a Covid-19 vaccination centre

BRADFORD Central Mosque will open its doors to become a community Covid-19 vaccination centre. It marks the beginning of a major initiative where Bradford Council for Mosques is teaming up with local GPs to accelerate and increase take-up of the vaccine as an essential preventative measure against the virus. The vaccination centre at the Central Mosque, Westgate, in the city centre, will be open from tomorrow between 8.30am and 1.30pm. It is hoped the initiative will help to increase confidence in the vaccine across the city, encouraging people to go for the jab in ever-increasing numbers. The vaccine hub is part of a series of measures launched by Bradford Council for Mosques to give positive information and reassurance about vaccines and encourage uptake among all priority at-risk groups. Wherever essential, it is looking at ways to provide transport for those most needing it.

Two volunteers Sam Pritchard Claire Durrant from the Grove Medical Practice in St Ives. - Credit: Joshua Maughan Volunteers at the Primary Care Network (PCN) Vaccination Centre want to thank all those in the community who have helped them to run effectively.   The Primary Care Network comprises of the Grove Medical Practice, Moat House Surgery, Riverport Surgery, and The Spinney Surgery who have all been running a Covid-19 vaccination service for its patients.  They want to send thank the businesses which have shown kindness by baking cakes, dropping off food, and tea and coffee.  A spokesman for the Grove Medical Practice, in St Ives said support had included the medical team at RAF Wyton, Huntingdonshire District Council and Cambridgeshire County Council, Cambridgeshire police, Cambridgeshire Fire, and Rescue Service and many others in the district. Tesco, Waitrose and the Rheola Care Home baked cakes, donated food and dropped off refreshments.

Cirencester and Moreton in Marsh GP-led vaccination services are contacting over 65s to invite them for the Covid-19 vaccine. Residents and staff in the top four priority groups in Gloucestershire have now been offered a vaccination and over 160,000 people have received their first dose. This includes people aged 70 and over, people in care homes, the clinically extremely vulnerable and frontline health and care workers. The next priority group currently being invited to vaccinate includes over 65s and 16-64 year-olds with underlying health conditions. “What has been achieved across Gloucestershire is truly extraordinary,” said Dr Andy Seymour, clinical chair of NHS Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group.
