Some councillors again expressed disappointment at their May 10 meeting with the circumstances around the closure of the local Primary Care Network clinic.
“I’ve had countless calls from doctors, residents about doctors and all of the PCN stuff, I’m sure you guys are receiving the same,” mayor Jeff Genung said to his colleagues at the conclusion of the meeting.

“It’s obviously provincial jurisdiction but as we’re all aware, access to doctors and medical care is something we require to be a complete community. It’s part of our purview as a complete community to offer access to doctors, I think one of the first questions […] a resident would have when they’re trying to move to our community or locate here are schools and medicine.”
