ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet Tuesday approved record Rs7.8 billion package for the upcoming holy month of Ramazan.
Addressing the media after the cabinet meeting, Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry provided details of the decisions taken at the meeting.
He said Prime Minister Imran Khan had personally been monitoring the prices of daily-use items and all possible steps were being taken to provide relief to the common man.
About the cabinet approval of issuance of licences to a few ones, including Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, the minister said there had to be a policy on the matter; therefore, the cabinet had asked the Ministry of Interior to come up with a policy on issuance of licences, ensuring whosoever deserved, should get arms licences. COLOMBO: Prime Minister Imran Khan Tuesday said Sri Lanka could enhance its connectivity up to the Central Asian States by benefiting from the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
“My visit is aimed at strengthening the bilateral relationship [with Sri Lanka], especially trade and economic ties through enhanced connectivity,” he said while addressing a joint press conference with his Sri Lankan counterpart Mahinda Rajapaksa here after holding one-on-one and delegation level talks.
The prime minister, who is in Sri Lanka on a two-day visit, said he had asked his delegation to find ways and means to enhance trade and economic relations between the two countries through increased connectivity.
