ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan says the PTI government has nothing to do with the Broadsheet issue, as General (R) Pervez Musharraf had signed the contract and later backtracked on it unilaterally by giving an NRO to PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif.
He was talking to a private television channel during his visit to North Waziristan on Wednesday, which was aired Friday night. Imran said the government had formed a ministerial committee comprising judges and lawyers to investigate the case and suggest ways to bring back the looted public money from abroad.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan says the PTI government has nothing to do with the Broadsheet issue, as General (R) Pervez Musharraf had signed the contract and later backtracked on it unilaterally by giving an NRO to PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif.

Imran said the government had formed a ministerial committee comprising judges and lawyers to investigate the case and suggest ways to bring back the looted public money from abroad.
He said the government had to pay $28.7 million in damages to Broadsheet or face daily markup of 5,000 pounds (1100,000 Pak rupees). He also quoted a State Department’s report on annual money laundering of $10 billion, which made $200 billion during last 20 years.

The Panagah initiative is very close to the prime minister s heart, which was launched in the very beginning of his term.
The prime minister spent first evening of the new year with the poor people at the facility. He joined the beneficiaries over the dinner and interacted with them.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Friday said there is a lot of anger in the Pakistan Army over criticism of the army chief by the opposition leaders.
In an interview with a private news channel, when questioned that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed were being criticised by the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM): was there anger over this within the Pakistan Army, the prime minister replied, “General Bajwa is a well-rounded man. That is why he is enduring. If someone else was in the Army, there would have been a big reaction. There is a lot of anger in the Army at the moment. But I know they are tolerating it, because they believe in democracy.”
