Havana, Mar 3 (Prensa Latina) Cuba´s Prime Minister Manuel Marrero on Tuesday affirmed that 2020 and the beginning of 2021 have been very difficult for the country due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, present global economic crisis, and the tightening of the economic, commercial and financial US blockade, through which Donald Trump passed over 240 sanctions.
Marrero chaired a meeting with directors and workers from the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP) to assess the ministry s work projects for 2021.

Havana, Feb 28 (Prensa Latina) Cuba reports an increase in Covid-19 contagions, while the rate of positive cases decreases, compared to previous days, Public Health Minister Jose Angel Portal informed.
Although the highest spread of the coronavirus is reported in Havana, Mayabeque and Artemisa provinces, active patients have been currently reported in 90 of 168 Cuban municipalities, the minister explained on Saturday at a meeting of the Government s Temporary Working Group to Fight the Pandemic.
During the meeting, chaired by Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, the governors of eight provinces explained the main actions to curb the pandemic.

Nursultan, Feb 5 (Prensa Latina) Cuba is willing to share with the member States of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) its capabilities to fight Covid-19, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero assured on Friday.
Marrero spoke virtually at the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, based in Nursultan, at which representatives of the EAEU member countries and observers are participating.
The Cuban official stated that the devastating effects of Covid-19 demonstrate that solidarity, multilateralism, and cooperation are the most effective means to tackle common challenges. Marrero said that Cuba is committed to boosting the integration projects proposed by the EAEU, and expressed the will to share its capacities to fight the pandemic.

Havana, Feb 1 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel started a working visit to central Camagüey province on Monday to assess the epidemiological situation and other issues of local and national impact. The president is accompanied by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero and other members of the Council of Ministers.
The visit will also analyze the implementation in that territory of the so-called Overhaul Task, which started on January 1 with the currency unification and the elimination of undue gratuities and subsidies.
The Overhaul Task also includes a reform of salaries, pensions and prices.
