Long-time tactical drone maker AeroVironment has completed its acquisition of ground robot manufacturer Telerob for $45.4 million in cash and a pay-off of $9.4 million of the firm’s debt.
The purchase of the German company is an initial step in AeroVironment’s plans to integrate tactical unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) and unmanned ground vehicles for use in combat operations.

Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D., Md.), who publicly shuns corporate PAC money, is set to hold a fundraiser with corporate lobbyists.
McAllister & Quinn, a D.C.-based government relations firm, will hold a virtual breakfast fundraiser for Van Hollen on April 14, according to the invitation for the event. Although Van Hollen prohibits corporate PACs from donating to his campaign, his fundraiser host, McAllister & Quinn, represents several corporate interests.
In 2020, the group s client list included L3Harris Technologies, a global aerospace and defense company, Progeny Systems Corporation, which develops software for the Department of Defense, and Veeco Instruments, a company that produces devices used in artificial intelligence.

AeroVironment said it acquired Progeny Systems Corporation’s Intelligent Systems Group (ISG) for $30 million earlier this week.
Under the terms of the transaction, AeroVironment acquired ISG for $30 million in cash and an earnout for Progeny Systems Corporation of up to $6 million over three years, based on the achievement of specific performance targets.
The ISG team will merge with AeroVironment’s MacCready Works Advanced Solutions team. The ISG facility in Virginia will now operate as AeroVironment’s new Artificial Intelligence Innovation Center. The ISG team will collaborate with teams across AeroVironment to integrate cutting-edge technologies into the company’s growing offering and solution roadmap.
