A Moncton man is facing a slew of charges after trying to flee from the Mounties on Cape Breton Island over the weekend.
Officers began tracking a vehicle travelling at high speeds in the Sydney area on Saturday evening but police weren’t able to follow it safely.
Numerous reports were made about a dangerous driver in a Mazda CX5 with New Brunswick plates.
The vehicle was reported stolen from the Moncton area on May 17.
After evading police for more than an hour, officers were eventually able to deploy a spike belt to stop the vehicle on Highway 104 in the St. Peter’s area.
