Veiga, who police also obtained a warrant for the same day, has not yet been arrested. Police are still actively searching for Veiga, who is considered to be armed and dangerous and has a history of violent crimes, the Plymouth County district attorney s office said. Anyone with information on Veiga s whereabouts is asked to contact Massachusetts State Police at 508-894-2600 or Brockton police 508-941-0200. The men are facing charges in connection with Duarte s murder, which occurred about 7:35 p.m. on Oct. 13, 2020, outside 94 Belmont Ave. Officers responded that evening after ShotSpotter, the city s electronic gunfire detection system, alerted police to 10 gunshots. Police also received multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting.

Milton man who fled to Dominican Republic indicted in Brockton killing

Days later, Brockton and State Police obtained an arrest warrant for Normil. In July 2020, Normil was added to the State Police s Top 10 Most Wanted list for its violent fugitive apprehension section. His wanted poster said he was considered armed and dangerous and mentioned previous convictions for assault and weapons offenses.  Normil was located in the Dominican Republic on Oct. 21, 2020, and placed in custody by U.S. Marshals. He was taken to New York and taken into custody as a fugitive from justice.  He pleaded not guilty to murder in Brockton District Court eight days later.  Normil will be arraigned in Brockton Superior Court at a later date. Assistant District Attorney Joseph Janezic will prosecute the case. 

Brockton man indicted in fatal stabbing of roommate after argument

The evening of Jan. 2, Brockton police responded to a 911 call from a man about his roommates fighting and one being armed with a knife. At Savignano s Jan. 4 arraignment in Brockton District Court, Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Sprague said he and Jennette argued over an issue with living arrangements because Savignano had been struggling financially. Officers found Jennette unresponsive and bleeding from multiple stab wounds and Savignano standing in the living room covered in blood. He allegedly told police that he had stabbed someone. Jennette was taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, where he died.  A Brockton police report said Savignano stabbed Jennette about 10 times with a metal bar fashioned into a knife.  

Milton man who fled to Dominican Republic indicted in Brockton murder

BROCKTON  A Milton man who fled to the Dominican Republic and was featured on the Massachusetts State Police s Most Wanted list was indicted Friday on a murder charge. Witchael Normil, 25, of Milton, was indicted for charges related to the shooting death of Marshawn Potts, 26, of Brockton, in December 2019, according to the Plymouth County district attorney s office.  The night of Dec. 18, Brockton police and emergency medical personnel found Potts in the driveway of his West Side home at 10 Shaw Road suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary, investigators do not believe this was a random act of violence, District Attorney Timothy Cruz said in a previous statement.
