Ford has unveiled the Evos crossover at Auto Shanghai 2021, showcasing the Blue Oval’s first vehicle developed under its China 2.0 plan, as well as for being the first model to adopt its “Progressive Energy in Strength” design philosophy that “aligns with Chinese aesthetics”, the carmaker said.
This means that the Evos is Ford’s first to be mostly developed by a China-based team that leverages on the company’s global development expertise, and which is designed entirely around the Chinese consumer experience and ownership scenarios, says Ford.
Little else has been officially confirmed about the Evos, though it does bear some resemblance in silhouette to the Mustang Mach-E that was also on display at Auto Shanghai 2021 and opened for pre-orders in China. The Mach-E has been priced from 265,000-379,900 renminbi (RM167,925-RM240,735) in China.

It’s been a while since we’ve enjoyed a big influx of premieres caused by a traditional auto show, so the upcoming Auto Shanghai (public days are from April 21st to 28th) is a welcome break from the new normal. And just about everyone is keen on taking advantage of the venue, it seems, including the Blue Oval. 7 photos
We’ve already seen what sustainable mobility is all about with the high-riding Mercedes-Benz EQB or the funky three-row Volkswagen ID.6, but this time around, Ford is trying to be futuristic in a different way.
The company has finally debuted the highly anticipated and much-discussed Evos crossover/station wagon that will herald a new direction for the retired Fusion and (soon to be axed) Mondeo sedan lines.
Ford EVOS electric crossover has a dashboard to put the Mustang Mach-E to shame

The Mustang Mach-E may not long have started arriving on dealership forecourts, but Ford has already revealed a new all-electric crossover, the Ford EVOS. Unveiled at Auto Shanghai 2021 today, the strikingly-designed EVOS will live alongside the electric Mustang in China, but sadly won’t be spreading elsewhere such as the US.
That’s a shame, because it’s certainly a distinctive EV. Ford says the design – described as “Progressive Energy in Strength” – is tailored to suit local tastes, with a blend of coupe and SUV aesthetics.
