Less than 48 hours later, it got stranger.
The strange sequence of events began shortly after Furey took his seat in the N.L. House of Assembly in October and quickly introduced Dame Moya Greene as the head of an economic recovery team tasked with recommending measures to lead the province out of the fiscal hole its dug itself into. The premier’s critics said Greene would be recommending harsh and unpopular measures and voters deserved an opportunity to see her roadmap before going to the polls.
