Tomorrow is the day. We’re picking up our dog and bringing her home. This will be the first time in my nearly 52 years that I have lived with a dog, so everything I am about to write is either hypothetical or about to be proven wrong. (This is actually an improvement from what I normally write.)
Our dog is a schnoodle, which is German for “small white dog that will probably pee on the rug.” We have spent much of the past few weeks preparing for her imminent arrival – buying a crate and a bed that she may well sleep in, toys that she may well play with, and food that she may well eat.
