India s cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeds 12.38 crores ANI | Updated: Apr 19, 2021 13:18 IST
New Delhi [India], April 19 (ANI): The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed 12.38 crores on Monday as part of the world s largest vaccination drive, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to the ministry, cumulatively, 12,38,52,566 vaccine doses have been administered through 18,37,373 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am today.
The ministry stated that over 24 lakh vaccination doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
As on Day-93 of the vaccination drive (April 18, 2021), 12,30,007 vaccine doses were given. Out of which, 9,40,725 beneficiaries were vaccinated across 21,905 sessions for first dose and 2,89,282 beneficiaries received second dose of the vaccine.

Johnson & Johnson seeks permission for phase-3 trial in India
Multinational pharma giant Johnson & Johnson has applied to India s drug regulator seeking permission to conduct phase-3 clinical trial of its single-dose COVID-19 vaccine in India as well as import licence,
PTI reported.
They said the company has sought an early meeting of the subject expert committee on COVID-19 of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) to take a decision on its application.

New Delhi: The Union health ministry on Monday announced that all claims of Covid warriors under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package will be settled till April 24 after which a fresh insurance policy for them will become effective.
In a tweet, the ministry said that a new dispensation will be provided to cover the corona warriors . For this, the ministry is in talks with the New India Assurance, it said. Two hundred and eight seven claims have been paid by the insurance company so far. The scheme has played a crucial psychological role in boosting the morale of the health workers fighting Covid-19, the ministry said in a statement.
