Budgam: The District Employment and Counseling Centre (DE&CC) Budgam in collaboration with District Administration Budgam today conducted a Job fair for Diploma and ITI pass outs under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) at New Conference Hall, here.
The Job fair was organised under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza and hundreds of Diploma and ITI pass out students participated in the fair and applied for various jobs available.
The DC on the occasion urged the youth to come forward and make full use of the placement drive. He said that the government employment is shrinking day by day and has very limited scope of job opportunities.
S4sTechnologies implemented a project in Hatmali village in Aurangabad district where SHG used solar conduction dryers for drying local perishable vegetables. Deployment of 25 such solar conduction dryers in Aurangabad is underway.

As per the statement tabled by skills development minister Mahendra Nath Pandey in Rajya Sabha on Friday, 36.04 lakh candidates were trained under short term training (STT) component. Out of this, 18.95 lakh candidates have been placed (2.77 lakh – self-employed, 15.83 lakh – wage employed and 0.35 apprenticeship).

Further, the minister said that based on the learning from implementation of PMKVY 1.0 (2015-16) and 2.0 (2016-20), the skills development ministry has launched PMKVY 3.0 on January 15, 2021 with an objective to train 8 lakh candidates in the ongoing financial year.
