Two Fort Harrison nurses recognized The Montana VA Health Care System honored two nurses, who are assigned to the Fort Harrison VA Medical Center, with recent Daisy Award recognition. The Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses recognizes individual nurses and clinical teams throughout the year for their extraordinary, compassionate care. More than 4,500 health care facilities and nursing schools across the United States as well as 27 other countries participate in every year. The two nurses being honored are: Elizabeth “Liz” Estes, a Registered Nurse at the Fort Harrison VA Medical Center, received the nomination for her attentive care of a patient going into an operating room. During the patient’s visit, Liz was one of the RNs taking care of surgical preparation. She patiently and methodically went over all the processes with the patient and explained every step, even covering what was currently happening, what to expect and why each step was important. Havre Daily News staff Montana State University-Northern held two sets of graduation ceremonies Saturdays, using COVID-19-compliant ceremonies to honor candidates whose ceremonies were delayed by the pandemic last year. The ceremonies were for graduates as far back as 2019 who would have been honored in the 2020 ceremonies. The commencement ceremonies were not open to the public, but each graduate was allowed to bring a maximum of five guests, including children, to allow for social distancing.

Northern hosting two commencement ceremonies on May 1   Press release Montana State University-Northern has announced that the 2019, 2020 and 2021 commencement ceremonies will be Saturday in the Armory Gymnasium. Northern was unable to hold a ceremony in 2020 due to the pandemic, this ceremony is a combination of students from 2019, 2020 and 2021. In order to reduce the number of people in the Armory Gymnasium, MSU-Northern will be holding two commencement ceremonies. All those in attendance will be required to wear a mask.  The two ceremonies are not open to the public. Each person graduating will be allowed five guests including children. Montana Actors Theatre is finding ways to keep performing   Last updated 4/21/2021 at 10:35am Montana Actors Theatre is continuing to find ways to perform after the COVID-19 pandemic derailed its planned season last year. The pandemic hit Montana, and the college campuses in the state including Montana State University-Northern s were closed, the week MAT was planning to open its production of Mama Mia. That production and the MAT dinner theater and its planned production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory all were postponed and have yet to hit the stage, but the acting troupe has stayed active with youth programs over the summer and into this year.
