On Wednesday, Facebook’s Oversight Board, comprised of company-selected lawyers, journalists, and activists, reaffirmed the company s decision to ban former President Donald J. Trump following the January 6 Capitol riot. According to the board, the former president “created an environment where a serious risk of violence was possible” and the company’s actions in response to the insurrection were “justified.” However, the board also found that an indefinite suspension, which is not clearly defined in Facebook’s penalty policy, was “not appropriate” and that a more standard punishment should be implemented, such as a timed suspension or permanent ban. “In applying a vague, standardless penalty and then referring this case to the Board to resolve, Facebook seeks to avoid its responsibilities,” the board said in its assessment. “The Board declines Facebook’s request and insists that Facebook apply and justify a defined penalty.” Facebook has six months to rea

New Delhi [India], April 8 (ANI): The fire fighting department said more than 100 staff of theirs have been deployed to douse the fire that broke out on Thursday in a factory near Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) office here in Damodar Park in Dilshad Garden Industrial Area.
Dr Sanjay Tomar, Deputy Chief, Delhi Fire Service said, More than 100 staff are deployed here in the fire fighting operation. Fire will be brought under control soon. No casualties reported but two of our staff have sustained minor injuries. The situation is under control.

Shares of smallcap companies were in focus in Friday s trade as the S&P BSE Smallcap index hit a new high of 21,411, up 1 per cent, on the back of a strong rally in power, textiles, jewellery, industrial machinery, chemicals and packaging stocks. The smallcap index surpassed its previous high of 21,389 touched on March 3, 2021. In comparison, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 0.73 per cent and the S&P BSE Midcap index was up 0.82 per cent. Shares of Vascon Engineers, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), BGR Energy Systems, Reliance Power, Olectra Greentech, 3i Infotech and OnMobile Global from the smallcap index were locked in their respective upper circuit filters on the BSE today.
