UP cabinet approves draft of UPCOC bill, opposition terms it as fascist

The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday approved the draft of a bill to enact a stringent law on the lines of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) to combat land mafia, mining mafia and organised crime, even as the opposition termed it as a fascist bill .

Mumbai Police Crime Branch files charge sheet against gangster Ravi Pujari in Gajalee firing case The crime branch of the city police has submitted a supplementary chargesheet against former gangster Ravi Pujari on Thursday in the Gajalee Restaurant firing case, as the prime accused at whose behest the offence was committed. The woman, who was pregnant with twins, was released on bail around three days ago in relation to a drugs case. The man allegedly shot his wife dead outside their residence on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Saina. Saina’s domestic help Shahdat was also shot during the incident. The man, however, is likely to survive. The accused was identified as Waseem. The entire incident was caught on a CCTV camera. In the footage, the man could be seen firing around a dozen rounds at Saina as she sat outside their house on a chair.
