Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday said an alert has been sounded in coastal districts of the state in the wake of cyclone Tauktae, and the state administration has braced up to ensure uninterrupted electricity and oxygen supply in COVID-19 hospitals.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday appealed to doctors who serve as family physicians to join the state s fight against COVID-19 and advise their patients under home isolation about the right treatment protocols.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (May 16) spoke to chief ministers of three states and one union territory including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Puducherry to discuss the COVID-19 situation there.
“During the discussion, received guidance from the PM on issues including oxygen supply, free vaccination to every person and on how to stop vaccine wastage in the State,” the UP CMO tweeted.

Appealing to family physicians to join in the fight against COVID-19, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday said that the role of private doctors was crucial in early detection which could in turn help facilitate timely treatment for the patient.
Mr. Thackeray, along with doctors of the State COVID-19 task force, held a ‘medical conference’ via videoconferencing in which over 700 doctors from the State participated.

Cyclone Tauktae Updates: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the depression in the Arabian Sea is likely to intensify into a very severe cyclonic storm on May 17 and cross the Gujarat coast a day later.
According to the weather department, the impact of the cyclone will be felt in the southeast, east-central & northeast Arabian Sea, Lakshadweep islands, Maldives area, triggering heavy rainfall in Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and also the coastal & adjoining districts of all these states.
