Spelling huge relief for lakhs of Covid-19 patients, the government has slashed the prices of the life-saver Remdesivir injection by nearly 50 per cent, to MRP Rs 2,450 per injection now, according to official sources. In a missive late on Friday, the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilisers, Department of Pharmaceuticals, NPPA - Advisor (Costs) N.I. Chowdhury has ordered all pharma companies to comply with the revised norms with immediate and retrospective effect. Based on the Form-V furnished regarding voluntary reduction in Maximum Retail Price (MRP) of Remdesivir, Manufacturers/Marketers of the Remdesivir are hereby directed to implement the revised MRP throughout the distribution chain w.e.f. 15.04.2021, irrespective of the batch numbers, the stern notification said.

Prime Minister too busy with Bengal election campaign, Maharahstra Chief Minister told. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray reportedly tried to speak to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 17 about the severe oxygen shortage in the State, but could not get through, because the latter was campaigning in West Bengal, sources in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 16 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will chair a meeting on Friday at 4 pm to assess the COVID-19 situation in Mumbai municipal jurisdiction.
The meeting will be held through video conferencing where the Chief Minister will take an assessment of the coronavirus situation in the jurisdiction of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
He will also take an update on BMC s pre-monsoon preparations.
According to Union Health Ministry, Maharashtra has reported 6,21,646 active COVID-19 cases 29,59,056 discharges, and 59,153 deaths in the last 24 hours. (ANI)
