Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar has lashed out at Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadiâs remark, dismissing it as baseless, saying that it was best to ignore it and that Mumbai had no connection with Karnataka. âThe Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka has made this argument to please the people of Karnataka,ââ he noted.
âMumbai belongs to Maharashtra. It was ours yesterday, is ours today and will be ours in the future, too. Nobody can change this. Everyone knows it. Hence, there is no need to pay attention to what he said. In my opinion, he should be ignored,ââ opined Pawar.

“Karnataka’s actions amount to disrespecting court”
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said on Wednesday that the disputed border area between Maharashtra and Karnataka should be made a Union Territory until the matter was decided in the Supreme Court.
He said no matter what, the disputed part would be made a part of Maharashtra.
“Ideally, status quo must be maintained in an area under dispute and the case is being heard in the apex court. But Karantaka government has renamed it Belgaum, given it the status of second capital of the State and holds its Assembly session there. Doesn’t it amount to disrespecting the court?” asked Mr Thackeray.
