Opposition parties targeting father, son duo alleging failure to attract the US electric auto maker to the state After the US-based electric and clean energy company Tesla opened a fully-owned subsidiary in India with its office in Bengaluru, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and his Cabinet Minister son Aditya are keen to convince Tesla to start operations in the State. With reports that Tesla is in talks with other State governments as well, the Maharashtra government is talking to company officials.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday asked officials to move the Pune-Nashik semi high-speed railway project proposal before the state Cabinet. According to an official statement, Thackeray gave the instruction during a meeting held at Sahyadri Guest House here to discuss the project. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Transport Minister Anil Parab and senior officials were present at the meeting. The project, expected to cost Rs 16,039 crore, had received approval from the Railway Ministry last year. It was informed in the meeting that connecting the two districts, which lead in agriculture and industrial sectors, by a direct rail line, will help fast-track economic development in the belt, the statement said.
Google India removes money lending apps for violating user policies

Mumbai, Jan 14: Tech giant Google said it reviewed hundreds of personal loan apps in India and those who were found violating the user safety policies were immediately removed from its play store.
The company in a blog post published on January 14 said the move was based on flags submitted by users and government agencies
The post also stated that the company instructed the remaining apps, the ones which were not removed, to comply with existing norms. Failure to comply with existing laws and regulations would lead to the removal from the Play Store.
