Mumbai: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) summoned former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh for questioning on Wednesday in connection with the corruption allegations levelled against him by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh and suspended officer Sachin Waze.
The summons was sent to Deshmukh on Monday morning, just a day after his two personal assistants Sanjeev Palande and Kundan were grilled by the agency in Mumbai.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court will on Wednesday seek an inquiry into the allegations leveled against him by Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on the plea of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh.
Singh has accused Deshmukh of running a ‘extortion racket’.
Param Bir Singh said in his petition, “Home Minister of Maharashtra Government, Anil Deshmukh has called for a fair, impartial, impartial and impartial inquiry before acting impartially in various corrupt maladies”.
In the petition of Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and R. Subhash Reddy, Singh’s petition will be taken by a two-judge bench of the apex court.

On April 11, the CBI examined two personal assistants of Mr. Deshmukh, as their names had come up during the ongoing probe.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday recorded the statement of former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh in connection with the preliminary enquiry into the corruption allegations against him.
“The statement of Mr. Deshmukh was recorded for about seven hours. The probe team may contact him again if necessary,” an official said.
