STORY: Never Too Old!
I’m finding the saying “You are never too old . . . ” to be a true statement for so many situations. Let’s explore a few of them.
You are never too old to smile when you see Santa. Who doesn’t have the urge to want to stand in line with all the children, to tell him your Christmas wish list? Santa somehow represents all that is right with this world. Peace and good will toward men. Along with that, you are never too old to enjoy unwrapping gifts. Even though it is more blessed to give than receive, it is still great fun to get a gift!
I’m Christy. I live in Texas and I love to sing and more than anything. I love to worship the Lord. Early 2019, I was on the worship team singing on Sunday morning and I felt my jaw pop when I was singing a high note and it was sharp and I was just in pain ever since then. It was a lot of fatigue. I just went on with life and was dealing with the pain. The pain got so bad that it prevented me from eating things I like. If I laid on that side too much or put my hand on my face to rest at night, it would just be very painful. It also prevented me from just singing to the best of my ability. I had to be so careful of how I was singing, it would make me hold back. I would even consider not being on the worship team anymore.
STORY: Christmas Carols
I don’t know about you, but for me, Christmas celebrations would not be complete without music. It uplifts me and I feel like I’m floating in air transported to a different time and place without problems and trials. Since I’m self-isolating due to being high-risk for COVID-19, this year Christmas looks different. I’m not shopping in stores, so I don’t get to hear the sounds and see the sights of the holiday there.
Instead, I get my fill of Christmas music other ways. I program my smart TV to play the top Christian Christmas tunes on YouTube. I watch Christmas variety shows. I catch myself humming the tunes when I’m busy doing other things.
