Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Carl Marlinga last month ordered that the Macomb County Medical Examiner’s Office search, find and produce the records that were referenced in the autopsy report of JoAnn Eisenhardt. In 2011, Joseph Reiner allegedly stabbed Eisenhardt.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP A criminal case dating back over a decade is now being reexamined.
At an April 23 evidentiary hearing and pretrial before Macomb County 16th Circuit Court Judge Carl Marlinga, it was ordered that the Macomb County Medical Examiner’s Office search, find and produce the records that were referenced in the autopsy report of JoAnn Eisenhardt.

A Metro Detroit animal advocacy group is seeking a harsher punishment for a woman facing sentencing in a case involving the abuse and attempted drowning of her dog in Macomb County.
Detroit Pit Crew Rescue objected to a plea deal Amber Sunde recently received that calls for two years’ probation, restitution and mental health treatment after being charged with animal abuse of her pup, formerly named Lux.
Theresa Sumpter, the group’s founder and director, is seeking jail time instead. There’s no real consequence,” she told The Detroit News. “The plea deal offered by the Prosecutor’s Office is so very low, I couldn’t believe it.”

MACOMB COUNTY, MI – A woman who broke several bones in a 6-month-old puppy’s legs, fractured its skull and attempted to drown it in the Clinton River has pleaded guilty to felony animal abuse after accepting a plea bargain that could result in a reduced sentence.

ROSEVILLE Roseville City Councilman Charles Frontera has resigned from his office as of April 28, one week before he pleaded guilty to a drug possession charge.
Frontera, 33, submitted his intent to resign in the late hours of April 27, following the Roseville City Council meeting that took place via Zoom.
“At 9 p.m. on April 27, 2021, City Clerk Jennifer Zelmanski and I received a written letter of City Council resignation from Charles Frontera,” City Manager Scott Adkins said in an email. “The resignation is to become effective at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2021.”

SHELBY TOWNSHIP Local lawmakers and talent development officials recently celebrated a local man’s successful recovery from addiction to returning to the workforce.
They gathered virtually on Wednesday, March 31, for the Michigan Works! Association Impact Awards to recognize people including Macomb County resident Ray Lane and Macomb/St. Clair Michigan Works!
After losing his job due to addiction, Lane spent time in a residential treatment center. It was there that he found a peer coach who helped him with an individual recovery plan. He said he was honored by the recognition.
