Update: Suspect killed after 9-hour standoff with police in Billings Police locked in standoff on Billings West End By: MTN News and last updated 2021-04-24 03:03:57-04 (12:30 a.m. Saturday) Law enforcement in Billings shot and killed a suspect after a nine-hour standoff at a Billings West End residence late Friday night. Billings Police Chief Rich St. John said officers used multiple methods to try to flush the man out of the residence on the 4000 block of Ridgewood Lane South, including chemical agents, robots and drones, but none were successful. A Billings Fire Department ladder truck was also used to try to spot the suspect in the house.

Man charged after leading authorities on pursuit through Yellowstone County

UPDATE: APRIL 1 AT 2 P.M. Court documents outline the series of events that led to the identification and apprehension of three suspects potentially involved in the shooting of an unoccupied vehicle earlier this week.  Shay Austin Dontmix is charged with one count of felony criminal endangerment and one misdemeanor count from fleeing or eluding a peace officer. Court documents state that on March 30 Yellowstone County Sheriff s Office (YCSO) Deputy Sennett grew suspicious of a white pickup at the Motel 6 in Billings. He said the driver of the pickup blocked the parking lot, then drove through it in a roundabout manner. The driver, later identified as Dontmix, was reported to pick up a black backpack from the parking lot and put something in it. A passenger of the pickup was also identified as Keyonna Hogan. Deputy Sennett said he observed that Dontmix would not exit the parking lot in his pickup until Deputy Sennett left.
