Given that the Pfizer vaccine requires extremely cold storage and longer thawing times, a Tuesday delivery means that appointments that day will not be feasible
Belton — Bell County Health officials were notified Sunday morning that the second shipment of COVID-19 vaccines might not arrive Monday morning as expected, a news release said.
Itâs the Bell County Public Health Districtâs mission to not waste a single dose of its COVID-19 vaccines.
So despite a few individuals missing their scheduled inoculation appointments, Bell County is continuing to surpass its daily goal of 560.
âWe had 893 vaccinations done across the two centers yesterday,â Bell County spokesman James Stafford said Friday. âWeâre going to surpass that goal as long as we have enough vaccines to do so. (The health districtâs) No. 1 goal is that theyâre not wasting any vaccine.â
Stafford said those additional doses are often administered to health care workers who have not received their immunizations yet.
