KILLEEN, Texas One man is in custody in Killeen after he fled the scene of a crash that involved a police vehicle late Thursday evening. 43-year-old Tajuan Carvell Brooks is currently in the Killeen City Jail awaiting arraignment.
Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Trimmier Road and Stan Schlueter Loop to help a Killeen Police Sergeant that was involved in a crash Thursday at about 9:25 p.m. Investigations revealed that the police sergeant was traveling northbound on Trimmier Road and entered the intersection with a green light when a Dodge Charger traveling westbound on Stan Schlueter Loop, ran the red light and collided into the patrol unit.

KILLEEN, TX â A man has been arrested for allegedly crashing into a police patrol unit and fleeing the scene.
According to the Killeen Police Department, around 9:25 p.m. on March 4, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Trimmier Road and Stan Schlueter Loop to help a Killeen Police sergeant that was involved in a crash.
The preliminary investigation revealed the sergeant was traveling northbound on Trimmier Road and entered the intersection with a green light. Police say a dark-colored Dodge Charger traveling westbound on Stan Schlueter Loop ran the red light, colliding with the patrol unit.

A Central Texas man was indicted on a murder charge Wednesday in connection with a missing person whose body was found in Killeen.
Palmer Grant Contreras â in custody at the Bell County Jail since 2019 â was indicted by a grand jury, court records show. He was arrested on a murder charge in December 2020 in the death of Temple resident Tommy Hebert. Contrerasâ bond at the jail is set at $1.2 million.
Contreras, 36, was indicted by a Bell County grand jury in August 2019 for trying to hide a black Dodge Ram pickup that belonged to Hebert, who was reported missing in late May 2019. Contreras also was indicted for possession of a controlled substance less than four grams as a repeat offender.
