Highlighting the importance of madrasas, he said that the Imran Khan-led PTI government has decided to take them along through various reforms. Madrasas give education to children and don t seek even a penny from the government, he said, adding We ended the void between the state and madrasas.

LAHORE: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday said that as decided in a renewed agreement with the Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan, his government would take the matter to parliament before April 20, the new deadline set for the implementation of the TLP’s demands.
The TLP had been threatening to stage a sit-in in Islamabad to protest against the PTI government’s failure to implement the agreement reached with it on Nov 16, which included demands like “expelling the French ambassador, severing ties with France and boycotting French products”, within three months through parliament.

ISLAMABAD: The Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) on Thursday put off a protest planned for February 17 after an agreement with the government.
Prime Minister Imran Khan talked to media and confirmed the agreement had been reached. An official team is negotiating with the TLP, he said, adding that the party’s demands will be discussed in Parliament. The Premier added that the TLP has postponed its protest until April 20.
Minister for Religious Affairs Noor-ul-Haq Qadri and Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid signed the agreement on behalf of the government. The agreement will be cancelled if any party commits any violation. The TLP had demanded the French ambassador’s deportation, and a ban on French goods after offensive sketches were published in France that had sparked protests across the Muslim world.
