COLOMBO (News1st): The Bar Association of Sri Lanka has requested the Prime Minister to refrain from pursuing the parliamentary motion on implementing the decisions of the presidential commission on political victimization.
Issuing a statement, the Bar Association of Sri Lanka expressed concerns over the parliamentary motion seeking to implement certain decisions of the presidential commission on political victimization.
The statement highlighted concerns that the motion seeks to implement the recommendations of the commission to withdraw certain ongoing criminal cases.
The Executive Committee of BASL expressed concerns that a proposal has been put forward the presidential commission’s recommendations, although its report has not been released to the public.
