Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood on Wednesday announced major reforms in Civil Service of Pakistan in order to boost the performance of bureaucracy and state institutions across the country.
Shafqat Mahmood, who is also heading the Cabinet Committee on Institutional Reforms, said addressing a press conference that besides improving the economic condition, the government has also brought reforms in the civil services. Considering the importance of the matter, the Prime Minister’s Office had been directly involved in the process, as it was top priority of the government, he added.

Islamabad, January 14, 2021 (PPI-OT): The Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat met under the Chairpersonship of MNA Ms. Kishwer Zehra in the Parliament House this morning recommended non-closure of Abandoned Property Organization (APO). The Committee was unanimous in its view that instead of closing down the Organization and selling its properties, the same may be given to the affectees of 1971 who chose to become Pakistanis. The Committee decided to pursue the issue with the Cabinet Committee on Institutional Reforms overseeing the process of wound up of APO.

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat on Wednesday opposed the selling of properties abandoned by Bengalis and proposed that these properties be given to the people of erstwhile East Pakistan who chose to retain Pakistani nationality even after the 1971 fiasco.
The properties, now under the control of Abandoned Property Organisation (APO), were left behind by Bengalis who gave up their Pakistani nationality and moved to Bangladesh after its creation.
The committee has already recommended that these abandoned properties should be given to those people who opted to retain Pakistani nationality and abandoned their properties in what was then East Pakistan.
