The Virgin Islands will receive about $362,000 in funding from the United Nations Covid-19 Response and Recovery Multi-Partner Trust Fund, government announced Tuesday.
The funds will contribute to the income support programme established by the government to assist vulnerable residents affected by the pandemic, according to Government Information Services.
It will be accompanied by technical assistance provided by the International Labour Organisation, the World Food Programme, and UNICEF to enhance residentsâ employability and boost social protection.

Beyond recovery - Minister Cox to lead roundtable discussion on Inclusive Digital transformation at XII Ministerial Forum for Development in LAC
Minister of Social Development and Family Services, Senator the Honourable Donna Cox will participate in discussions on behalf of Trinidad and Tobago, at the XII Ministerial Forum for Development in Latin America and the Caribbean. The Forum, co-organized by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will be held virtually from January 12th - 14th, 2021 under the theme “Covid-19 Beyond Recovery- Towards a new social contract for LAC.”
