The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to stop marginalizing security officers from the Southeast in the hierarchy of the state commands in the region.
HURIWA called for the immediate reorganization of the hierarchy of State Commands of security forces in the South East to allow indigenes head them.
The frontline advocacy group lamented the deliberate scheming out of officers from the South East heading the states commands of all of the segments of the security forces.
HURIWA stated this in statement by its National Coordinator, Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko and National Media Affairs Director, Miss Zainab Yusuf.

The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has accused the National Assembly of sabotaging the war on terrorism by distracting the Nigerian military through the ongoing investigation into the procurement of arms.
DAILY POST earlier reported that the Chief of Army Staff, Maj Gen Attairu Ibrahim, on Monday, appeared before the House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating arms procurement.
The appearance caused a standoff between the Army Chief and the Committee members, as the latter refused to apologize over his inability to attend prior invitations.
Reacting, HURIWA advised the Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawan and the Speaker, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila to provide patriotic leadership to guide the relevant defence related committees so their members are not “recruited as undercover sympathizers of Boko haram terrorists who will continue to spread sensational media stories regarding the propriety or otherwise of the procurem
