16:15 • 30.04.21 With its speculations over the return of Armenian captives, Azerbaijan is trying to give a political context to this legal issue, Armenia s human rights defender said today, calling for efforts to give a  strong and clear-worded message to the international community. We must let the international community know that this conflict is not over yet, and any person on their territory is virtually a captive, Arman Tatoyan told a news conference. Highlighting the manipulative nature of the statements being made time and again, the ombudsman also insisted on the impermissibility of instituting criminal cases against prisoners of war (POWs). They do it intentionally in an effort to keep our society in tension - given that the captives issue gives ground to different speculations, causing sufferings to families, he said.
