Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsanje Lalanje constituency Gladys Ganda has said the country has lost a very good person and steward of development in T/A Mbenje of Nsanje.

She was speaking when she gave a tearful and lurid eulogy for the fallen chief who succumbed to Covid-19 earlier in the morning of the same day at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe.
Ganda described Gogo Mbenje as a visionary chief who was full of development plans for Nsanje Lalanje constituency and the whole Nsanje District.
“As MP, my job was always easy, and I have been performing wonderfully because of the guidance that I received from Gogo Mbenje. The late Mbenje was a very prayerful family man who loved his wife and children; he also loved his people and his country, Malawi. Officials at the ministry of Foreign Affairs have rejected the appointment of former acting Inspector General of Police Duncan Mwapasa on the basis that he is a core Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) supporter and government has resorted to post him to diplomatic mission.
Mwapasa: Heading to Brazil
He was supposed to be a director responsible for administration after ministry of Justice and ministry of Homeland Security also rejected his appointment in the two respective ministries.
Mwapasa is now heading to Brazil for an embassy job,

There was no immediate comment from Mwapasa nor government officials.

HRDC: They have become a mercenary institution
Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) has been caught pants down lying to Malawians and Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on serious allegations levelled against Salima Sugar Company. (SSC).
According to Malawi Voice independent investigation and concrete report from the company, HRDC did a half-baked job with ill-motives better known for themselves.
This follows a letter, HRDC had written ACB Reyneck Matemba and Malawi Revenue Authority Commissioner General John Biziwick to probe allegations of corruption, money laundering and tax evasion at the company.
In a letter dated January 19 2021, HRDC says, during the Democratic Progressive Party regime, the Malawi Government which holds 40 percent shareholding in SSC guaranteed a loan of $18 million from Export Development Fund and another loan worth $6 million from CDH Investment Bank.
