At least one stakeholder in the island s human resource sector is concerned that the lack of adequate digital literacy in the workforce will result in persons being left behind as the COVID-19 pandemic prolongs.
President of the Human Resource Management Association of Jamaica (HRMAJ), Lois Walters, argues that the issue of employees not being digitally literate is a serious challenge.
She was addressing a recent workforce development forum hosted by the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce under the theme, Workforce development during and after a pandemic .
Walters opined that with some employees lacking in digital skills, this will result in them lacking the knowledge of how to protect themselves while they navigate the online space.
