ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) A man was sentenced to 20 years in prison and 15 years of post-release supervision after he was convicted for an incident that happened in 2019.
Delrick Jeffries, 53, was convicted of first and third degree rape and two counts of second degree assault and second second degree unlawful imprisonment.
Jeffries was arrested after a woman requested help at a City of Rochester grocery store on Oct. 24, 2019, claiming Jeffries had assaulted her, forcibly raped her and held her against her will earlier that day.
Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley said in a press release that the case is an example of why community cooperation with law enforcement is so important.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) The Monroe County District Attorney s Office announced Tuesday it did not determine County Legislator Ernest Flagler-Mitchell committed a crime in sending an explicit photo to a woman.
The DA s office confirmed to News10NBC the information has been forwarded to the Monroe County Ethics Board.
While the ethics boards can determine whether cases violate the county s Code of Ethics, the law does not lay out any specific powers for the board.
Last month, County Executive Adam Bello and fellow Democrats in the legislature proposed an amendment to change that. It would give the board full power to investigate harassment complaints against county employees and hand down punishments.
