Vaccine demand drops locally, many available appointments April 19, 2021 10:53 PM Site staff Updated: LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)- Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse has a few hundred slots available this week if you’re still looking to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Mayo’s La Crosse campus has more than 250 appointments left this week and they’re expected to receive another 400 doses of the vaccine next week. There are also openings in Prairie du Chien, Arcadia, and Sparta. They’re administering mostly the Pfizer vaccine so they encourage anyone 16 and older to get the shot. “Our assumption is we are through a lot of the early adapters, those that were really eager to get the vaccine and now we’re on to those who are a little more hesitant to get the vaccine for whatever reason,” said Mayo Nurse Administrator Ben Anderson.
