Indianapolis police are investigating the death of a woman on the west side as a homicide, adding to what was a violent night in the city.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were dispatched to a death investigation in the 1200 block of Luett Avenue just after 9:30 p.m. Monday, according to a news release.
Officers located a woman with injuries consistent with trauma. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Marion County Coroner s Office later identified the woman as 43-year-old Latisha Burnett and listed the manner of death as a probable homicide. The coroner determined Burnett died from a gunshot wound or wounds.
