Fiji recorded 35 new cases since the last update yesterday. All the cases are from the Suva-Nausori containment zone. One is a case from the Navy cluster that was reported last night.
The remaining 34 new cases were recorded today and are linked to the following clusters:
CWMH cluster- 10
IMT warehouse Lami – 11
Nadali cluster- 1
Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services Dr James Fong said there are 2 new cases from Navosai and Tamavua under investigation to determine any links to other cases.

Last night 35 cases were announced.
All the new cases are from existing clusters except for one in Caubati:
QEB cluster – 7
There have been 438 cases since this outbreak started in April 2021.
Fiji has had 508 cases in total since our first case was reported in March 2020, with 181 recoveries and 4 deaths.
Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services Dr James Fong gave an update on the Colonial War Memorial Hospital last night.
“Last night we conducted extensive swabbing at CWM Hospital,” Dr Fong said.

The big announcement last night must be a very firm reminder for us all in Fiji about what we are dealing with. Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services Dr James Fong confirmed 46 new cases.
That must inch out some concern if it hasn’t already done so. It must force a rethink of what we do today and moving forward. So what were the key takeaways from this latest announcement?
Aside from the staggering figure, it has to be the fact that people are still engaging in unsafe behaviour! They are still attending large gatherings.
Understandably there are emotional aspects to consider, however, the fact remains, the virus moves when we move!
