Colorado Medical Marijuana Advocate to Be Remembered With Holiday
A new Colorado-specific holiday will take place for the first time on April 7th, 2021 to remember a teenage girl that helped legitimize medical marijuana in our state.
The girl, Charlotte Figi, suffered from seizures all of her life due to a condition called Dravet Syndrome which triggers epilepsy and because of this, her parents spent a good amount of time scrambling to find a way to treat the horrific disease.
It wasn t until they landed in Colorado Springs and Charlotte was treated with cannabidiol, better known as CBD that the young girl was finally able to live without the torture of constant seizures. In fact, before being treated with CBD, Charlotte had a bout of several months when she was five years old where she was in such bad shape that she was unable to even speak.
