More than £5million has been handed to Gloucestershire to boost efforts in the fight against the coronavirus, including targeted support for school outbreaks and testing for hard to reach groups. Gloucestershire County Council s cabinet approved the Government s financial pack earlier yesterday (January 27), which will fund a range of measures to improve the county s response to outbreaks and to those in self-isolation. Councillors also announced in the meeting that an extra £200,000 will be spent to provide 400 extra laptops to vulnerable children. The millions of pounds will be injected into the Gloucestershire Local Outbreak Management Plan, which determines how the county s authorities keeps Covid-19 under control when there are outbreaks in certain settings.
