Chennai: There were more takers of Covaxin than of Covishield at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital on the first day of the Covid-19 vaccination five that was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday morning.
The people who chose Covaxin had to fil a consent form before actually taking the vaccine dose. Covaxin was given the emergency use approval and still has to go the Phase three trials.
A doctor, while speaking to a media house, said that the first two phases of Covaxin have shown good production of antibodies and good T-cell response. He further said that Covaxin is produced by using the killed virus and that it is safe for use.
