HOSPITAL patients in Basingstoke and Andover will be able to watch the Euro 2020 final for free tonight. Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust (HFHT), which also runs Winchester hospital, has decided to give its patients free access to channels one to five from 6pm this evening, until after the football match during which England take on Italy. The decision will be good news for many patients in hospital who may have thought they would have to miss the crucial game, which will see England play in the final of a major football tournament for the first time in 55 years. Posting on social media to help spread the word, HHFT said: “We are all hoping it’s coming home this weekend, but we know some of our patients won’t be. At HHFT we are offering free access to channels 1-5 on Hospedia from 6pm on Sunday 11 July, until after the match (and England have hopefully lifted the trophy!).”
WHAT a year it is has been! These past 12 months have been unlike any other - and maybe it s just us, but 2020 felt like an awful lot longer than the 366 days the calendar claims it has been. It can be hard to recall what the world was like back when people could shake hands, not have to guess how far away two metres is while out and about, and the sight of a crowd was not cause for concern. So the Chronicle has taken a look back at some of the highs and lows of this year. First we look back to the first half of the year.

Friday, 18th December 2020, 3:28 pm
The grim milestone was reached as newly released NHS England statistics put the town s total at 508.
Ten more deaths have been recorded by Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust in the last 24 hours.
However, due to delays in recording and reporting, it does not necessarily mean the deaths have occurred in the last day.
