For the second day in a row, the trauma service area that includes Smith and Gregg counties has had a daily COVID-19 hospitalization rate that was less than 15 percent of its hospitals’ total capacity.

On Friday, the Texas Department of State Health Services reported that TSA H’s hospitalization was at 17.48 percent, which was down from Thursday. On Wednesday, the hospitalization rate was at 19.36 percent. There were also 15 ICU beds available on Friday.

On Wednesday, the Texas Department of State Health Services reported a hospitalization rate of 16.50 percent, which is up from the number posted Tuesday, which was 16.34 percent. This is the seventh-straight day of below 17 percent for Area G. That’s after 27 straight days above 17 percent.

On Tuesday, the Texas Department of State Health Services reported a hospitalization rate of 16.34 percent, which is down from the number posted Monday, which was 17.19 percent. This is the sixth-straight day of below 17 percent for Area G. That’s after 27 straight days above 17 percent.
