A GREENOCK-born MSP has attacked what he says is a lack of action on deprivation in Inverclyde. Jamie Greene, who was brought up in Gibshill, is calling for the Scottish Government to get a grip of the crisis which was exposed last year when the district topped poverty league tables. The West Scotland MSP says ministers are not doing enough to tackle the health, unemployment and crime issues facing the area. The communities secretary Aileen Campbell has today hit back, and insists the government is taking strong action to tackle poverty and inequality across Scotland, including in Greenock and Inverclyde .
Aarti Speciality Chemicals, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aarti Drugs has received an approval accorded under Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for pharmaceutical sector.
Government of India s Department of Pharmaceuticals under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers recently launched a Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme to promote domestic manufacturing by incentivising pharmaceutical manufacturers to set-up greenfield projects in India with a minimum domestic value addition in four different target segments (Two in Fermentation based - at least 90% and Two in the Chemical Synthesis based - at least 70%) with a total outlay of Rs 6,940 crore.
The objective of the scheme is achieving self-reliance and reducing import dependence in these critical Key Starting Materials (KSMs)/ Drug Intermediates/ Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) in the country. The tenure of the scheme is from FY21 to FY30.

The Minister for Drugs Policy is to give evidence at a one-off evidence session at Holyrood.
Angela Constance was appointed in December after the National Records of Scotland (NRS) reported the number of drug-related deaths in Scotland increased by 6%, from 1,187 in 2018 to 1,264 in 2019, the highest number since records began in 1996.
The Health and Sport Committee will hold a one-off evidence session with the Minister on Tuesday.
Richard Leonard has rejected Anas Sarwar s invitation to join his frontbench team FORMER Scottish Labour leader Richard Leonard has refused to be part of Anas Sarwar’s frontbench after the new boss announced the party’s team to fight May s election. Iain Gray and Claudia Beamish have been removed from the frontbench in the shake-up but Daniel Johnson and North East Scotland candidate Michael Marra have been drafted in. Mr Sarwar said he had asked his predecessor to join his team but Mr Leonard has declined to be part of the frontbench. He said: I had a very positive exchange with Richard and Richard didn t feel that he wanted to come back on the frontbench at this time.
