It’s been used on and off as a quarry for more than a century, but a 166-acre site in Hopewell Township will become a park in the future, and county officials are taking the first steps to turn that plan into a reality.
The Mercer County Parks Commission is developing a master plan to turn the Moores Station Quarry into a park, once quarrying operations cease in the spring of 2023. The county held its first public meeting for the plan virtually on Dec. 2.
