The Municipality of Sioux Lookout has announced their closures and restrictions as the Province moves our region to the Red-Control Zone on Monday.
Restrictions and closures are in place for at least two weeks, in line with the province’s COVID-19 response framework.
Starting Monday, March 15, 2021 at 12:01 a.m., the Memorial Arena will be closed for the season and the ice will be taken out.
Outdoor rinks will also be closed for the season and the Gym will be closed to all users and user groups.
However, the Fitness Centre will remain open, with the following restrictions

Sioux Lookout – In response to the announcement from the Provincial Government, regarding the Province-wide “Shutdown” which comes into effect on
Dec. 26, 2020, the Municipality of Sioux Lookout wishes to communicate the impacts of this decision on Municipal operations.
Effective Dec. 25, 2020, all Municipal facilities (including the Recreation Centre and Memorial Arena) will be closed to walk-in traffic, with a few exceptions, as noted below. The Municipality continues to operate and provide all essential services, and can be reached via telephone or email. Staff will continue to work to provide key services to the public. The Municipality of Sioux Lookout is out with its closures under the provincial lockdown plan.
All Municipal facilities, including the Recreation Centre and Memorial Arena, will be closed to walk-in traffic starting on Friday.
Outdoor ice rinks will also be off-limits.
The closures will last through January 9.
All essential services are continuing, staff will work to provide key services, and staff will monitor and respond to public inquiries and concerns.
The Sioux Lookout Airport Terminal Building and Hidden Lake Landfill Site will remain open.
