JEFFERSON The trails are alive with the sound of music: the laughter and delight of kids on skis! Midcoast Conservancy’s annual six-week Youth Cross-country Ski Clinic is under way at Hidden Valley Nature Center in Jefferson.
On the first day, fifty masked kids strapped on their skis and broke into five groups to work with instructors. The seasoned crew of teachers are all repeat leaders, and have as their primary goal to make learning to ski as fun as possible. The legions of families who return year after year are testament to the instructors’ success in keeping the smiles going all morning long.

Earlier this month, 247Sports four-star quarterback Justyn Martin made it clear he was nearing a decision and that the California Golden Bears and Oregon State Beavers were in a battle to come out on top.
Rated the nation’s No. 8 pro-style passer and No. 223 overall prospect, Martin represented a chance for Oregon State to open its 2022 recruiting cycle with an early headliner, as he would become a top-five high school pledge in program history.
But Monday Martin announced his decision - a commitment to Cal:
