Representational image The spread of COVID-19 is on an apparent decline in India, the economic impact of the pandemic is still evolving, as new waves of COVID-19 infection are striking locally. Any estimate on revenue impact, thus, may not be free from shortcoming and constraints. However, as GDP data of last two quarters is now available, and as GST shows the brightest sign of recovery among all revenue streams, a recent study by NIPFP projects GST revenue for 2020-21. The paper further delves into the issue of compensation to states in the case of revenue shortfall enshrined in the prevailing law, and presents an estimate of GST revenue shortfall that Indian states may likely to face in 2020-21.

The Union Ministry of Housing Affairs announced the award in a letter sent to the Chief Minister (CM) of Tripura Biplab Kumar Deb. Tripura was selected as the Best Performing State, Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) was selected as Best Performing Municipal Corporation and Belonia as the Best Performing Municipal Council .

Dec 28: Tripura has been selected the best performing state in implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban, under the North Eastern and Hilly States category.The PMAY (Urban) Awards -2019 have been categorised under three levels and various categories.Minister of State of Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep S Puri recently said in a letter to Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb: “…State of Tripura has been selected as the ‘Best Performing State’ under the North Eastern & Hilly States category and Hon’ble Prime Minister will felicitate the State.
