Law enforcement officers in Portland, Oregon, declared a riot Friday night after leftists began smashing windows, destroying property, and vandalizing businesses.
Police officials said the group, containing roughly 75 people, was initially rallied by a post on social media that called for an “autonomous demonstration” to block traffic and disrupt activities around Couch Park in Portland, according to

While law enforcement officials said the event invite instructed participants not to bring weapons, many of them were “armed with weapons and tools used to cause damage, wearing helmets, body armor, and gas masks and committed crimes such as riot, criminal mischief, arson, and assault.”

Portland was rocked by violent demonstrations Tuesday – even after a Minnesota jury found former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin guilty of the murder of George Floyd.
At least two people were arrested and video first published by The Oregonian and retweeted by police showed a demonstrator dressed in all black punching a bicycle officer in the head before more officers piled on top of the suspect. Police have arrested a woman for setting a homeless camp in Old Town on fire Saturday, April 17.
No injuries were reported.
Alisha M. Ikola, 20, was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on a charge of arson in the second degree.
According to the Portland Police Bureau, at 11 a.m. April 17, Central Precinct officers were called to a report of a fire in a camp at Northwest Fourth Avenue and Davis Street. When officers arrived, they found the fire had fully engulfed the tent and was starting to spread to the adjacent building.
