A manhunt was underway in Portland, Ore., on Saturday night after a suspect accused of ramming into a police officer with a stolen truck on Christmas Eve somehow escaped from a holding cell at the city’s Central Precinct, according to a report.

Portland police on Saturday arrested a man accused of ramming into a police officer with a stolen pickup on Christmas Eve. But about four hours later, he escaped from a temporary holding cell in the Police Bureau’s detective division and ran out of police headquarters in downtown Portland, police said.
Around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, officers discovered David Dahlen, 24, had escaped from the holding cell in the detective division, where investigators planned to question him about the Dec. 24 incident and resulting police shooting.

PORTLAND, Ore Police declared a riot outside the federal courthouse in downtown Portland on New Year s Eve.
People started gathering near the courthouse at Southwest 3rd Avenue and Southwest Main Street around 7:45 p.m. The crowd grew to an estimated 80-100 people, according to the Portland Police Bureau (PPB).

Portland Police have arrested three people in connection with a riot on New Year s Eve that caused thousands of dollars in damage to businesses.
Severe damage was caused to two Starbucks coffee shops, including the one at Pioneer Courthouse Square and the one at 1600 Southwest 6th Avenue. There was also vandalism and burglaries to The Portland Wine Company, Ben Bridge Jewelers, Pandora Jewelers, Chase Bank, and the Pacific Building.
Officers continue to document damages, process reports, and investigate these cases of criminal mischief and burglary. Additional arrests are possible. If anyone was a victim from last night s riots, and they have not been in contact with officers, please make a report online at
